I'm the author of three novels: Taming it Down, Meeting of the Waters and, most recently, Jump at the Sun.

Jump at the Sun -- my most recent novel -- has received some nice accolades. The novel was:


- Nominated for a 2007 Hurston/​Wright Legacy Award in fiction.

- Chosen by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association as a 2007 Fiction Honor Book.

- Chosen by the Massachusetts Center for the Book as a 2007 Massachusetts Book Awards Honor Book.

Jump at the Sun explores the challenges of mothering and being mothered in a complex world, through the lives of three generations.
